I have worked with DogEvolve trainer a few times and I was happy with the result.  He is much better with his recall and large dogs, but I felt stuck with the current behavior.  So I decided to try different trainer.  I read about Lisa on InCirclePets.com and contacted her.

What’s Mochi’s problem?  Barking/chasing/lunging at large dogs.  He is much better, but need more adjustments.  He also barks at little/young  kids, which is not good…

We just had a first consultation with her today.  Mochi barked at her as she came in to our house as usual.   He barks at anybody new coming in to our house.

It didn’t take long for him to get used to her.  After talking about his behavior for 1 hr, she tried a few things to see his reaction.  Just waking around, approaching me, making him sit/touch, etc…

It was a very educational meeting.  She is very thorough and organized.  Although I forgot to send her a questionnaire until the day before, I could tell she reviewed it well before coming to the meeting.  I would love to go out and meet her at a dog park and have a little training next.

If you are like me, who is not crazy about dog whisper’s method of training, but loves to work with positive reinforcement, these trainers are good place to start.

There is a great puppy social group in Pacifica.   It is at The Rex Center.

Good mixture of small and large puppies and they have a little fenced area for new and shy puppies.   People there are attentive to everbody’s dogs, so it is a great place for socializing with puppies of different sizes.   Contact them for more details!

They also offer puppy training classes.  I will be photographing a class at the end of this month, so come back to check out the photos!

I met up with Creativetee owner at Boat Park dog are in Foster City.  It is a fenced in dog park and there is a small dog area and large dog area.   Each area has artifitial grass, table and umbrella, water fountain and poo bags.

We got there around 2pm, but there were at least 10 dogs and dogs kept coming and going.  It is a heavily used dog park, but looks pretty clean.  Mochi had a great time there.   We usually go to a park in south San Francisco, but there are not many dogs if you go there anytime before 5p and gets pretty cold after that.
